I Ate a Sandwich! Yay!

I spent all of yesterday in bed. Sleeping, rolling over and falling back asleep again… Fever aches and sore stomach muscles. I woke up every half hour to hour to see if the day was over yet, see that it wasn’t and roll over hoping the next time I woke up it would be tomorrow. In the afternoon, Maya brought me a thermos of consomme, crackers, and two bananas, and later on she came with a special box of stomach tea and aspirins. Another gift was her laptop loaded with four episodes of How I Met Your Mother. The tea was bitter like no other but I had a cup and distracted myself with the much needed comedy. Then I slept, and slept, and slept till this morning waking up to a bright and sunny day. I showered and changed into fresh clothes. Still a headache and some soreness, but I’m feeling much better. Thank God.
I spent the rest of my afternoon napping, listening to podcasts, and sitting in the sun. I ventured out for a cheese and ham sandwich and peppermint tea in the Bavarino and so far so good. I plan on going back to work tomorrow. Happy thought indeed! I need to get out of this room and see people. Even if I can’t talk to them I just want to be around people again.  I’m running out of my stored up files of podcasts and I’ve heard quite a bit on the European G20 Summit in Cannes and Eurozone Debt Crisis, the arsonist attack in Paris, David Beckham plans to play football in the Olympics… It’s moments of sickness that make the benefits of wellness soooooooooooooooooo good to return to!
My parents will be here in one week. I will be leaving Sonnenalp in a week and a day. I’ll be flying back to FL in three weeks and a day. I’ll be back in Miami in three weeks and 4 days. So weird to be looking at my things and trying to remember how I had packed everything when I came. Then remember I have gotten a few more things since then... Need to clean this and wipe those shelves. But most importantly once my stomach settles I need to get to work on catching up on my käse spaetzle quota… but I’ll give it a few more days before I attempt that.
